ABOUT OLIVER
Some kids dream of being astronauts or superheroes. For me, the dream was simple: I wanted to dance—and never stop.
I grew up in England, and my love for movement began at just five years old when I walked into Chaplins Stage School under the guidance of Belinda Hill. Between ballet barres and tap shoes, I found my home. Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Musical Theatre—it all lit a fire in me that’s never gone out.
That passion led me to receive one of only two scholarships to train at Stella Mann College of Performing Arts, where I earned diplomas in Musical Theatre and Dance. It was there I learned the true meaning of discipline, artistry, and connection.
After college, I danced around the world—literally—performing on cruise ships for Royal Caribbean and P&O Australia, and competing across the UK in top-tier Ballroom and Latin events, including the Bournemouth UK Championships and the iconic Champions of Tomorrow at Blackpool.
What began as a love of performing soon evolved into a passion for teaching and helping others discover what dance can do for their lives. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with hundreds of students of all ages and backgrounds—each with their own goals, challenges, and reasons for stepping onto the dance floor.
Today, I continue to train, compete, and study the art of Ballroom and Latin dance, bringing that knowledge and experience into every lesson I teach. As an active competitor in the NDCA Professional Rising Star and Open Professional American Smooth divisions, I remain committed to growing as both a dancer and educator.
My teaching journey has taken me from the United Kingdom to Grand Rapids, Michigan, and now to Indianapolis, where I am proud to teach through OS Dance and at Starlite Ballroom. Along the way, I’ve worked with complete beginners, wedding couples, social dancers, youth students, and competitive Pro/Am students—each reminding me that dance is about far more than technique alone.
Yet the most meaningful lessons I’ve learned haven’t come from certifications or competitions. They’ve come from seeing a nervous beginner gain confidence, watching a wedding couple share their first dance, helping a student achieve a personal goal, or seeing friendships form through a shared love of dance.
Because at its heart, dance is about people. It’s about connection, confidence, growth, and community.
Whether you’re stepping onto the floor for the very first time or pursuing your next challenge, my goal is simple: to help you enjoy the journey and discover what’s possible through dance.
